Elle’s Top 3 iPhone/iPad Apps for 2012

Top three appsYes, I’m a geek at heart.  Though most of you that know me personally know that I’m kind of a fashionista-geekdiva hybrid all the way through….  Since it’s the eve of the eve for the upcoming New Year and I’m here sitting on the sofa messing with apps on my phone; I thought I’d share my top three faves with you!

Flava Icon

In no particular order, the first one I’d like to tell you about is Flava!  I love Flava because it allows me to “journalize” what’s going on in my life.  Yes, it’s a diary but it’s got some cool additional features that no written diary has to offer.  For one, you can add videos and photos! Another is you can see a slideshow of pix in your journal with music that you pick.  I’ve had this app since early this year and it’s been a blessing to have for recording some of this past year’s best experiences.

I use Flava as a life-log and I also use it to log in music that I appreciate (so I don’t forget) or a movie that I watched or a restaurant that I ate at and loved so much I had to log it in my Flava so I’d remember.

It doesn’t take long to enter stuff into the app.  In fact, I usually go in and just put in a few lines and sometimes I go back in to fill in the details with pix I took or other details I might have left out.    Now that it’s the end of the year, I get to peruse what I went through this past 2012 and it got me started to thinking what a great app this was.  Hence, my reason for sharing with you!

Picfx IconAlright, the next app that I really rrrrrreeeeallllly love (sorry about that, just get so excited) is PicfX.  Running currently at $1.99, this app rocks with over a 100 effects if you mix and match the filters.  I use Picfx before posting a lot of my photos on Instagram or on Facebook.  The app has a great selection of photo effect sets such as Classic, Vintage, Light Effects, etc.  The Classic set has some great options alone that sometimes, I don’t add anymore touches. However, the great thing about Picfx is you can add effect ON effect.  For example, if you want to add a color effect from the Vintage set and then add a bokeh effect (light bubbles floating around in the picture); you have the option of “layering” your effects on your photo.  The app is so cool that I get a lot of people asking me how I did those amazing things to my pictures a lot.  So…..  Here’s the answer…..

Screen Shot 2012-12-30 at 3.52.01 PMA new one that I just added recently is called Swirl.   You select your favorite stores and you can see what’s trending as far as merchandise at those stores, explore other stores and what they have to offer AND the best part is you get to see the offers that are currently active at the stores you love to spend your money at!  How great is that?!  I know…..  When I was telling my husband about it, he cringed at the thought that shopping for me is getting easier and easier, thanks to technology. EEK!

So that’s the top three for 2012!  As far as apps, that is!  More to come in 2013!  More to share!  I am so excited!

So Happy New Year’s Eve all and make it a safe one!  See ya all NEXT YEAR!  Love and Kisses from Elle @ Elle’s Lookbook!
